Blaze - Subessen Land of Grace
WELKS 2009
Blaze was the eighth puppy born on April 7th 2006 and right from the beginning made her presence felt by both adults and her little brothers and sisters. If there was a puppy trying to escape it was Blaze. This sense of adventure and self-confidence were two of the reasons we decided to keep her - together with the fact that she liked her food - which was a real change from her mother (Jess).
Favourite spot
She easily made friends with Bertie who breathed a big sigh of relief when he realised that only one of the puppies were staying in his house!
Meeting Bertie Friend of another kind
Blaze practised hard at ringcraft sessions and was rewarded when she entered her first show on 7th November 2006 and qualified for Crufts 2007 with a 3rd in minor puppy.
Blaze really showed her "socks off" at the Bearded Collie Championship Show in December 2006 where she was placed third in minor puppy but first in Maiden, Novice and Debutant under Viv Stevens:
"Very nice youngster, good pigment and eye colour, nicely balanced, good topline. Seemed more at home and settled here and moved much better with good reach and drive." (Critique after Maiden)

Bearded Collie Championship Show - Dec '06
Throughout 2007 we showed Blaze at Championship and Open shows with some success. At East Kent Canine Society Show in February she was placed 1st in Puppy and followed this with a second in the Puppy Group.

East Kent Canine Society Show - Feb '07
At Southern Counties Championship Show in June she was placed 3rd in a class of 15 in Junior and 3rd out of 10 in Yearling under the handling of Sue Bird, to whom we were very grateful. This gave her qualification for Crufts 2008.

Southern Counties Championship Show - June '07
Growing her adult coat kept Blaze out of the ring for a while, but she managed to qualify for Crufts 2009 at the City of Birmingham Show when she was placed 3rd out of 11 in Post Graduate.
2009 has started well. She was placed 4th in Post Graduate at the SCBCC Championship show in February and followed this with a brilliant 5th in Graduate Bitch at Crufts 2009. Claire showed her for the first time at Crufts and was naturally over the moon with the result.

Crufts - Mar '09
This was followed by a 1st place in Post Graduate at Working and Pastoral of Wales Championship Show in April '09 under judge Jan Wood. This qualifies her for Crufts 2010.
Jan wrote, "this girl excelled herself on the move, lovely dark eye and pigment, strong head but still feminine, balanced angulation, good length of rib, nice top level, one of the best movers of the day."

Working and Pastoral of Wales Championship - Apr '09
In May Blaze was placed 3rd in The National Dog Show.
At the moment her appearances at shows are limited due to the new puppies that made their appearance on July 30th, her half-brothers and sisters.
However, we are hoping she will be back in the ring in the near future, in the meantime she is having fun chasing frisbees and balls.

Moorhampton - Apr '09
Blaze bounced back into the ring in style at the Southern Counties Bearded Collie Club Championship Show in February 2011 by winning the Post Graduate Bitch class.
SCBCCCS - Feb '11
At the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show on Saturday 20th August 2011, the judge was Mr Terry Colwell. Blaze (S. Land of Grace) continued her good form by being placed 3rd. in a very strong Limit class.
